Thoughts about Vampire Diaries – let me first just say I do like Delena a little more than Stelena but only a little. I don’t mind it either way.

First of all can we all stop hating Caroline? She has every right of being weary of Damon and Elena. I get it but I feel like using the whole Caroline/Damon thing from the first Season isn’t enough of an excuse for me to not like Damon though. I hate that people are throwing around the word rape – I don’t believe that’s what the writers intended it to be, I don’t believe they would gloss over something like that. If someone (and excuse me if they have) comes out and say that directly then I take this little part back and she can add that to her list of course. Did he hurt her? Yes. Did he manipulate her? Yes. I think the whole sex thing though, it’s hard to explain, but she did want to get into bed with him to begin with. He compelled her to forget the bites and stuff which is wrong but did he demand sex from her… I don’t remember that happening. I remember the bed scenes(there was only a few, and the first time he bit her they were already in bed so she was willing) they had and she was smiling – then when things got weird at that founders party and from then the manipulation was all about making her do things, erasing her memory etc. Now that is something she should be 100% pissed about but to me this is where its gets confusing… Everyone seems to be able to accept Stefan’s past but not Damon’s. Stefan had his ripper stage, and he’s no golden boy he’s done things too and everyone still puts him up on a pedestal. I mean is it because what he did to people wasn’t to any of them or their friends, does that make it okay? If they can accept that he was once a monster but is redeeming himself why can’t they do the same for Damon? I mean is it because it was more recent… does that mean in however many years it’ll be okay for Elena to love Damon?

Stefan had Lexi to reel him in. When Damon first came to Mystic Falls Stefan was all about trying to stop him, and then eventually help him… eventually he did. Damon isn’t perfect but he’s not the bad boy Caroline abusing Jeremy killing guy he was. Yeah it took a little while for that to happen but I’m sure it took a little while for Lexi to help Stefan too, I’m sure that didn’t happen right away. We also saw parts of the bad Stefan in season 3. I read this line somewhere about Stefan in season 3 “His attitude is much like that as when Damon first arrived in Mystic Falls in the season one premiere” .. I found that interesting.

It seems like everyone can forgive and forget with Stefan because it didn’t affect them directly (early ripper), or someone made him to do it… it never seems to be his fault which bugs me. His early ripper days may not have been Elena’s friends and family but that doesn’t make it okay. If you said that to someone like Caroline she’d say but he’s changed now… ding ding ding so has Damon. Is Damon perfect? No, but neither is Stefan. The point is he is different from Season 1 which is when he was at his equivalent to Stefan’s Ripper attitude. I understand people who ship Stelena don’t like Damon. I get it. But when they list all these things I want to come up with a list of Stefan’s faults…

I’m also wondering how many Stelena shippers are Klaroline shippers because that would be abit hypocritical. Which is why I can’t wait to see how the Klaroline relationship unfolds because if Caroline even kisses Klaus she has a lot of explaining to do or at least she’ll have to do a whole backflip on ‘I hate Damon’ thing.

As for the whole sire bond, eh. I don’t know what’s going to happen. Obviously Elena loves him but I get why Damon has to break it. He does have a certain control of Elena’s actions (not feelings) which is dangerous. I don’t think Damon would ever abuse that intentionally (unless it was to save Elena and she’s being stubborn) but he could say something accidently and also it’s making little old Damon insecure. He wants to know Elena loves him for real and I don’t think he’ll ever feel that until she chooses him unsired. I hate Stefan’s whole attitude about this though. I mean Stefan knew that Elena had feelings for Damon before she was turned. Sometimes I think Stefan puts Damon down too much and I think he knows he’s doing it even though Damon is trying. I think he doesn’t want Damon to feel like he’s good enough for Elena. See Damon can’t be selfish about Elena but Stefan has been selfish when it comes to Elena at times (imo). He believes that he is the only one for her; he can’t accept that someone else might be able to make her happy.

Anyways I get why BOTH brothers are good for her. They are different relationships but they both work in their own ways. Both relationships are not perfect and have their problems. Like Damon said before it wasn’t right for Elena and him at first, she was with Stefan, he was still trying to redeem himself etc. and right now they’ve reached a point where it is right.

Okay so now that I’ve defended Damon let me acknowledge his faults. I love that everyone talks about how he only puts himself first yet one of the negatives of him loving Elena is that he’d put her first always. He would let other people die just to save her. That’s something she would not like. Also he can still hurt her because he’s willing to make those life and death decisions. Although to be fair he did a lot of those so Stefan would still be the Saint Stefan he is to Elena (which is also selfless). He is also pretty reckless so if something were to happen I’d be a little worried he’d act before he thinks ie attacking Matt because he caused Elena to turn.

Stefan does listen to Elena. He saved Matt when Elena told him to. I have hated him so far in season 4 though with the whole cure thing. He claims he listens to Elena, he would do what she wants etc but if that’s the case he should have told her about the cure. I don’t believe that Klaus telling him not to matters really if he wanted to tell her he would have. She deserved to know. Its not his choice, its hers to make. I think he was worried she would make the choice he wouldn’t like. And then making Jeremy kill that guy, he really had no right to do that either. I believe he was doing what he thinks is best but that just shows his judgement can be clouded by his feelings too.

To be honest I can’t predict who endgame is for Elena because personally I think it could go either way. Unless either brother does a complete backflip from where they are right now and have a psychotic meltdown then it would make sense for Elena to pick either brother. I know his post will probably be disliked by a lot of Stelena fans but I really don’t care because it’s just my opinion and like I said I don’t mind either relationship I’m just trying to point out that the arguments that some fans have against Damon are a little hypocritical and that there are arguments against BOTH relationships.

Long post I know. I just had to get it out and none of my friends watch the show (they’re weird, I know).

Btw can Bonnie have like a great relationship again. This girl is in need of some love from a non creepy professor. Also Tyler was badass in this episode.

Old and/or obscure ones are welcome too. Not super old. Anything before 50s really unless its super good.

Im a huge fan of Nightmare on Elm Street & Halloween series. I love heaps of others but these are my faves.

Even cheesy teen horror movies are okay, I just want any type of suggestion really.

I do prefer the ones that actually scare you, build suspense etc and doesnt just concentrate on gore..
